We provide bikes for toddlers up to approx. 1 metre tall or you are welcome to bring your own. For children over 4, we recommend bringing your own balance bike or removing the pedals from a regular bike to bring along.
We can also provide helmets, or you are welcome to bring your own.
Yes, absolutely. We welcome all children to join our sessions. Please get in touch with your child’s specific requirements and we will discuss any necessary adjustments to ensure they can fully enjoy and benefit from our classes.
Our goal is to create an inclusive and supportive environment for every child.
Children will need to wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. They should wear closed-toe shoes that are secure on the foot and provide good grip. Please avoid loose clothing and long skirts/dresses.
Long hair will need to be tied up in a low ponytail so that a helmet can be fitted comfortably.
Do not worry! This is very common.
For safety reasons, children are required to wear a helmet whilst they are riding the bikes during our sessions. Learning to wear a helmet is the first step in learning to ride a bike and it is a great habit to develop at a young age.
We ask grown-ups to be really consistent with this rule: No helmet, no bike! When children see how much fun their friends are having, they usually want to join in too and will put on a helmet to do so.
Sometimes, a child may have a particular sensory or other difficulty, which means they find wearing a helmet particularly hard. We will work together with you to support them gradually learning to tolerate a helmet, even if just for a short time at first. Until they are ready, they can join in with our classes on foot, engaging in activities to improve their balance and co-ordination, ready for the day they are ready to keep that helmet on!
It's perfectly normal for toddlers not to join in right away. Every child is different and takes their own time to feel comfortable. Some children are more confident and dive straight in, while others may take longer to get used to new surroundings and prefer to observe before participating.
As a parent, we understand it can be challenging not to pressure them to join in, especially when you've paid for a class. However, know that children learn a lot from simply watching their peers have fun on their bikes, and they will give it a go when they are ready. We provide them with the time and space to adjust, while offering fun and engaging activities to try.
Our sessions are child-led, and we work with you to use your child's interests to motivate them to give it a go!
Yes, please! Initially, we encourage grown-ups to be actively involved in the classes to support and encourage their children. Please wear comfortable clothing to join in the fun. As your child becomes more familiar with the routines and activities, we encourage them to become more independent, allowing you to stand back and relax while they enjoy the session.
If you provide more than 48 hours' notice, we will issue a full refund. For cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, a refund will only be offered if the space can be filled by a waiting list customer. You may also be eligible to transfer to another session, depending on availability.
We typically do not offer free trial sessions for our courses. This is because it often takes a few sessions for children to settle in and for you to see improvements in their confidence. However, if after three sessions you decide not to continue, we will refund you for the remaining three sessions that you do not attend.
Our Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) sessions at Moredon are only £5. These sessions are a great way to meet us and see if your child enjoys our classes.
